Terms of Service

1.Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Applyin ("Applyin", "we", "us") governing your use of the Applyin browser extension, backend services and website (together, the "Service").

By installing the extension, creating an account, or running an analysis, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2.Definitions

• "Extension" means the Applyin Chrome extension installed in your browser.
• "Analysis" means one run of the Service comparing your resume with one job posting.
• "Reports" means the AI-generated output of an Analysis: fit analysis, skills gap, improvement plan, resume improvements and interview preparation.
• "Credit" means the prepaid unit used to pay for one Analysis.
• "Account" means your registered Applyin account, identified by your email address.

3.Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use the Service.
• You must register with a valid email address that you control, and keep your account information accurate.
• One Account per person. Creating multiple Accounts to collect free analyses repeatedly is not permitted, and we may merge or close duplicate Accounts.
• You are responsible for all activity under your Account and for keeping your credentials confidential. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.

4.The Service

• Applyin reads the job posting you have open in your browser, compares it with the resume you upload, and produces a fit score with supporting Reports, shown in a sidebar on the job page.
• Results for the same resume and job are cached for 24 hours, so re-opening the job in that window returns the same result without using a Credit.
• Resumes that cannot be read or validated are rejected before any Credit is charged.
• We may improve, modify or discontinue features of the Service. If we discontinue the Service entirely while you hold unexpired purchased Credits, we will refund their unused value or offer an equivalent remedy.

Nature of the output

Reports are generated by artificial intelligence from the documents you provide. They are guidance, not fact: they can be incomplete, imprecise or wrong, and they are not career counselling, legal advice or any other professional advice. The fit score is an estimate produced by a fixed scoring method, not a judgement of you as a person or a prediction of any employer's decision. Applyin does not promise interviews, offers, or any hiring outcome.

5.Credits, payments and refunds

Free allowance

• Every new Account receives 3 free Analyses on signup. No payment method is required for these.

Purchasing credits

• Further Analyses are paid with Credits. 1 Credit runs 1 Analysis. Prices are shown at the time of purchase and may change for future purchases.
• Payments are processed by Razorpay. Your payment details go directly to Razorpay and are governed by its terms. Applicable taxes may be added at checkout.
• Credits expire one month after purchase. Expired Credits are not refunded, so buy what you expect to use.
• Credits are personal to your Account. They cannot be transferred, resold or redeemed for cash.

When a credit is charged

• A Credit is deducted only when an Analysis completes successfully.
• If an Analysis fails to complete, or the system rejects the run for quality reasons, no Credit is deducted.
• Re-opening a job within the 24-hour cache window costs nothing.

Refunds

• Credits consumed by completed Analyses are not refundable as money.
• If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 30 days of the charge and we will investigate. Statutory rights that cannot be waived remain unaffected.
• Initiating a payment chargeback while continuing to use the Service may result in suspension while we resolve it.

6.Acceptable use

You agree that you will not:

• upload a resume that is not yours unless you are expressly authorised to use it;
• use the Service for anything unlawful, deceptive or harmful;
• resell, sublicense or provide the Service to third parties as a service;
• send automated or bulk requests, scrape the Service, or use it beyond the rate and volume of ordinary personal use;
• probe, overload, disrupt or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure;
• reverse engineer, decompile or copy the Service or the Extension except where the law permits it despite this clause;
• circumvent Credit limits, free-allowance limits or any technical restriction;
• remove or obscure proprietary notices.

We may throttle, suspend or terminate Accounts that break these rules (section 13).

7.Third-party sites and LinkedIn

• The Extension works alongside job sites you visit, currently LinkedIn job postings. It reads only the page you have open, on your device, when you use it.
• Your use of those sites is governed by their own terms. You are responsible for complying with them, including LinkedIn's User Agreement, while using Applyin.
• Applyin is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by LinkedIn Corporation. LinkedIn is a trademark of its respective owner. References to LinkedIn are descriptive only.
• We are not responsible for the content or availability of third-party sites, or for changes those sites make that affect the Service.

8.Intellectual property

Ours

The Service, including the Extension, backend, website, brand, logo and design, is owned by Applyin and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Extension for your own job search, subject to these Terms. No other rights are granted.

Yours

Your resume remains yours. You grant us a limited licence to process it solely to provide the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy. The Reports generated for you are yours to use in your job search.

Feedback

If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them to improve the Service without obligation to you.

9.Privacy

How we handle personal data, including the guarantee that your resume PDF is processed in memory and never stored, is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

10.Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.

• We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that Reports will be accurate or complete.
• Decisions you make based on Reports, including whether to apply for a role, edit your resume or say something in an interview, are yours alone.
• We do not guarantee any employment outcome.

11.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• Applyin is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, or loss of data or goodwill.
• Applyin's total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for Credits in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or INR 1,000 if you have made no purchase.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or wilful misconduct.

12.Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Applyin harmless from claims, damages and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of law or third-party rights, including uploading a resume you had no right to use.

13.Suspension and termination

By you

You may stop using the Service at any time and request deletion of your Account (see the Privacy Policy for how). Unexpired purchased Credits on a voluntarily deleted Account are forfeited unless the law requires otherwise.

By us

• We may suspend or terminate an Account that breaches these Terms, abuses the Service, or creates risk for us or other users. Where reasonable, we will warn you first.
• If we terminate your Account without cause, we will refund the unused value of your unexpired purchased Credits.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 8, 10, 11, 12, 15 and 16) survive it.

14.Changes

We may update the Service and these Terms. Material changes to the Terms will be posted on this page with a new version number and effective date, and where appropriate notified in the Extension or by email. Changes apply from their effective date and do not apply retroactively. If you do not agree with a change, stop using the Service before it takes effect.

15.Governing law and disputes

• These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
• Before formal proceedings, you agree to first raise any dispute with us in writing (section 17) and give us 30 days to resolve it in good faith.
• Subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights in your place of residence, the courts of competent jurisdiction in India have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms.

16.General provisions

• Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Applyin about the Service.
• Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect, and the provision is enforced to the maximum extent permitted.
• No waiver. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.
• Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with your protections preserved.
• Force majeure. We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages of infrastructure providers.
• Notices. We may notify you in the Extension or at your Account email. You can notify us at the contact below.
